Escape Walkway, Gresham Hotel

As part of the modernisation of the Hotel a new roof access maintenance walkway has been installed to connect the new 6th Floor accommodation to the escape stairway.

A tricky little number when you are working in the centre of Dublin and need to lift the materials from the road up to the 6th floor roof level. A great deal of planning and co-ordination with the Contractor (CENEC Trading Ltd) was had, to make the operation of lifting the material, as quiet and as quick as possible. The lifting took place on a Saturday night and on into the early morning of the Sunday. This allowed the crane to be away, before any disruption to the traffic could be caused. Due to the planning and teamwork, everything went well and no disruption to the local residents or traffic occurred.
