Marcus P Graham Ironworks detailed and fabricated a bespoke outdoor steel bike enclosure for the Evara Portmarnock development. Modelled entirely in Tekla, the structure features robust steel framing, secure mesh sides, and a Black RAL finish ,with integrated colour-matched gutters.

The Story

The Evara Portmarnock roject demonstrates Marcus P Graham Ironworks’ ability to deliver high-quality, durable residential infrastructure. Tasked with creating a secure, multi-bay outdoor enclosure, our team managed the project from the initial digital detailing through to fabrication and assembly.

The entire structure was modeled using Tekla Structures, allowing us to precisely detail every structural assembly and connection before physical manufacturing began. The primary framework is highly robust, We utilized heavy-duty SHS 80x80x6.0 sections for the main structural columns and SHS 50x50x3.0 and 2.5 sections for the interconnecting roof beams and supports. To ensure maximum stability and safety, the structural columns feature 10mm thick base plates that are secured directly to the foundation using heavy-duty M16 anchors.

Given the enclosure's outdoor setting, durability and weather resistance were paramount. All steelwork was manufactured to rigorous BS EN 1090-2 Execution Class EXC2 standards.

Aesthetically, the structure was designed to blend seamlessly with the modern residential surroundings. The enclosure is fitted with full-height mesh sides for security and visibility. It is topped with a sleek, single-skin metal deck roof finished in Black RAL . To complete the clean architectural look, we integrated a self-hanging gutter system that was perfectly color-matched to the roof, ensuring efficient water runoff without compromising the structure's modern, streamlined silhouette.

Why It Should Win

The Evara Portmarnock enclosure stands out for its perfect execution of functional, high-end residential infrastructure. By utilizing Tekla modeling software, Marcus P Graham Ironworks guaranteed that the extensive array of SHS columns, beams, and secure mesh panels aligned flawlessly on-site, eliminating rework and accelerating the installation process.

What sets this project apart is the industrial-grade engineering applied to a residential amenity. Built to EXC2 manufacturing standards using heavy steel sections and secured with M16 concrete anchors, the structural integrity of this enclosure is unparalleled. Furthermore, the meticulous attention to the final aesthetic—highlighted by the Black RAL single-skin metal roof and the seamlessly integrated, color-matched self-hanging gutters—elevates the build from a standard storage area to a premium architectural feature. It is a prime example of how Marcus P Graham Ironworks combines rigorous structural detailing with clean, modern finishes.
