Therefore every kW of electricity generated by solar P.V. displaces the 0.346kg of carbon.

This is important because we want our systems to work all year round. So how do they work?
Solar P.V. panels work from changing photons to electricity, hence the name “Photovoltaic”:
‘Voltage from Photons’.
When photons bounce off the face of a solar P.V.panel the cells activate to generate electricity.
This electricity is transferred to a unit called an inverter. This unit changes the electricity from D.C. ( direct current) to A.C. ( alternating current) that you can use in your business. The electricity is transferred from the inverter to the fuseboard of the business and is consumed in exactly the same way as power supplied by the National Grid.

This means they do not require direct sunshine to generate electricity.
Yes you will still receive electricity bills.The solar P.V. system will not be able to generate all the electricity that you need, depending on space available for solar P.V. panels and if you require battery storage.

Solar P.V. is generally maintenance free as there are no moving parts, and the product guarantees are very long.
That said it will depend on the business and if there would be a need to clean the panels on a regular period.Advice would be given on an individual business basis on site inspection.
Unfortunately if there is snow on the panels and the photons cannot reach the cells, then the solar P.V. system cannot function at this point.
You would have to rely on the National Grid.
Over the past 10 years we have had a situation of 28 days where panels did not function because of snow.That is 0.0059% of the time available.
You can place solar panels on an East , West or South facing option or any combination of all three.
If you could use all three options then you can see that you would have a slightly higher annual yield.
If you send electricity back to the National Grid then your supplier will be in a position to pay for this over supply.
There is a limit and this is strictly enforced.

To lease a solar P.V. system will bring added complications that may cause issues at a later date.
It is important to seek legal advice on this matter, that is independent, to ensure that you are not being influenced by persons that would have an agenda/ vested interest either way.
We would strongly advise that a solar loan is the better option as at the end of a period you will own the system outright.

7.P.V. is connected to the safety switches, and then to the inverters.
8.Inverters are connected to the local fuseboard.
9.G10, if applicable, is installed.
10.At an agreed time the power of the building is shut down,and the system is connected to the building.
11.All power is switched on and commissioning takes place.

Short answer is no; batteries are not necessary for your system to work.
Long answer; if you need to store energy generated by your solar P.V. system for night time use, then batteries would be a good investment.

Some businesses may be experiencing issues with the current supply of electricity from the grid at specific times.Batteries could smooth this issue out and provide a boost when needed.

Where available rooftop panels are best, as they are out of the way, and not using valuable ground.
In terms of production, it's worth bearing in mind that the sun is 93,000,000 miles away from the earth; an extra 10 or 15 metres won't make a difference in terms of output from a ground mounted system.
