Working closely with the client, we designed and constructed a steel-framed livestock building incorporating HeatGuard roof sheeting—a specialist roofing system engineered to reduce solar heat gain while maintaining exceptionally high levels of natural daylight. Unlike conventional roof sheets, HeatGuard utilises a specially developed pigment with a low G-value that reflects harmful solar radiation, reducing heat build-up inside the building without compromising light transmission.

The result is a brighter, cooler, and more comfortable environment for livestock throughout the year. By minimising hot spots and maintaining a more consistent internal temperature, the building promotes improved animal welfare while reducing heat stress during warmer periods. The excellent light transmission also reduces reliance on artificial lighting, lowering energy consumption and operating costs for the farmer.

Innovation extended beyond the roofing system. The steel structure was designed to maximise the performance of the HeatGuard panels while providing an open, durable, and low-maintenance building capable of meeting the demands of modern dairy farming. Every aspect of the project focused on creating a facility that would deliver long-term operational benefits through intelligent engineering and quality construction.
