Greyhound stainless steel sculpture

Finalist in: Architectural Metalwork – Special Projects
A low poly stainless steel Greyhound sculpture.
The Story
I wanted to create a modern low poly Greyhound sculpture that showed both the strength and elegance of stainless steel. Every piece was designed and laser cut. Then folded, welded and finished by hand. The biggest challenge was getting all the panels to line up while keeping the Greyhound's proportions and smooth lines. The finished sculpture shows how steel can be used for more than engineering. It can also be turned into unique works of art.
Why It Should Win
This sculpture combines precision metal fabrication with creativity. It's a one of a kind handcrafted piece that showcases the skill, patience and attention to detail involved in working with stainless steel. It demonstrates another side of the Irish steel industry through modern design and craftsmanship.
