The Griffin Point project, is located at the former Columban missionary site in Donaghmede. The project, worth €102m, provides much-needed homes for the Dublin region, with a total of 410 apartments, a childcare facility, and associated residential amenity areas.
The Story
Peter Martin Engineering was appointed to Griffin Point to design, fabricate and fit all the architectural metalwork items to both phase AB and CD.
This consisted of stair handrails to 11No. Stair cores, Boundary railings to entire site, Car Park guarding plus facades to both blocks, an escape stair and various balustrades required throughout.
Our team delivered a bespoke metal façade for the Griffin Point Apartments car park, combining precision engineering, aesthetic impact, and long-term durability. The project demonstrates our ability to integrate architectural vision with practical fabrication expertise, resulting in a structure that enhances both the building’s identity and its environmental performance.
Why It Should Win
The façade design required a balance between visual appeal, airflow, and structural integrity. We collaborated closely with architects to develop a open metal fin system that provides natural ventilation while creating a distinctive, modern look. Each panel was custom-fabricated using high-grade, corrosion-resistant steel, laser-cut for accuracy, and finished with galvanized weather-protective coating and polyester powder coating on top to ensure longevity in a coastal climate.
The completed façade has transformed the Griffin Point Apartments car park into a striking architectural feature, enhancing the building’s value and the surrounding streetscape. The project stands as a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainable steel solutions.
