The Story
We were tasked with the fabrication and installation of 30mm twisted rope-style handrails throughout a stone spiral staircase within a castle. Due to the curved nature of the staircase, we had to carefully follow the contours of both the inner and outer stone walls. To achieve the required precision, all work was carried out entirely on site. This included the fixing of wall brackets as well as the curving and shaping of the steel rope by hand to match the unique lines of the structure. The result is a functional and sympathetic addition to the historic setting.
