Structural Steel Work, Platform Canopies and Stair Platform, York Street Station, Belfast

In April 2024, Translink's new York Street Station in Belfast officially opened its doors, marking the completion of extensive renovation works.

The station's modernisation provides a significant boost to the local area, offering enhanced facilities and improved convenience for daily commuters. Vision Fabrications Limited was proud to play a pivotal role in this transformative project in collaboration with our client, Graham Construction.

Our contributions included designing, fabricating, and installing key structural elements of the station. This included the main station's structural steelwork, the east stair platform, a link bridge, and tapered platform canopies.

These elements are crucial for the station’s functionality and aesthetic appeal, ensuring it meets the high standards expected.

Vision Fabrications was also responsible for the design of all steel to steel, steel to concrete connections and value engineering a self-supporting handing bracket to fit the canopy arms safely and at pace during the possession work phase.

One of our standout achievements was the design and engineering of a bespoke main arm-to-column connection. This innovative solution was crafted to ease the installation process, significantly reducing the time spent on-site and enhancing safety during installation.

A pivotal moment in the project was witnessing our on-site team successfully and safely install the bridge structure. This achievement was a testament to the meticulous planning, skilled craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication of our team.
