Fabricated and Erected 1100Tn of Hot Rolled Steel, 17,000m of Cold Rolled Sections, 5000 Sq.m of Intumescent and Supply and fit of 22,000m of Insulated Cladding.

The Story

The Unit is over 130,000 sqft in footprint, and is specifically built for Munters who are a global leader in climate solutions for mission-critical processes. They are specialist in 3 areas, AirTech, FoodTech and Data Center Technologies.

This Unit was designed to service the Data Center Technologies side of the company. (DCT) is a technology leader that

supplies advanced climate cooling solutions for data centers.

This unit will cater for the construction of Data Centre Cooling Units to service the ever grown Data Centre Construction scene in Ireland.

Why It Should Win

This could be perceived as a big shed, however there is more that meets the eye.

Every inch of the warehouse can be accessed by gantry crane and it included NCD Fabricating and Erecting over 300Tn of Gantry support Steel.

Due to the Size and weight of the DC Cooling Units for the end user, the requirement for the gantry's was 25Tn Capacity Cranes with a span of 18m long, therefore our available tolerances for this building were near zero.

For our fabrication workforce, this was bread and butter stuff, however detailing and more so the erection and plumbing of this project were imperative.

Across the spans, at a height of 12m above FFL, the tolerances available to us were =<3mm.

This required communication with all our suppliers including Steel Stockholders to supply steel bars well inside rolling tolerances and they provided top quality material and we thank them for same.

Despite the size and scope of the Project, we started standing the first column on 4th December 2023 and fully handed the building over on the 15th of March, totaling 12 working weeks from start to finish in the harshest of weather.

I'll finish as I started, this could be perceived as a big shed from the outside, but for us, it is a top quality facility delivered in a best in class fashion.
