The Story
We were approached by Naomh Brid GAA Club to design, fabricate and fit a new set of Main entrance gates for the football pitch.
During the initial process of the project we were met with many conflicting opinions of what the new gates should look like. Eager to present a more modern gate design the board members gave us the go ahead to present 3 drawings for review. We made an effort to steer the club away from the more traditional heritage style gate. We wanted to pay homage to the clubs core in a unique way and rather than just use the St Brigids Cross logo we wanted to incorporate the physical cross into the main structure of the gate.
The finished design comprises of a 50mm box outer-frame with 12mm square bars joining the outer-frame to the club logo in the center. The 12mm bars are in alternating directions mimicking the St Brigid's Cross. The center logo is laser cut with backing pieces powder coated different colours to highlight this feature. The gates were hotdip galvanized and powder coated to finish.
Why It Should Win
We feel that our design is worthy of winning the IASF award for its distinctive/ unique design. The design itself is distinctive and unique to the Naomh Brid club with the St Brigids club logo as it’s centerpiece but we feel it still was fitting to the setting of a local football club.
We can have a few better photos taken if you think it is worthy. We are a bit last minute submitting this.
I registered QDE as a IASF member only tonight so I don't have a membership number yet.
