Finished Projects Winners Announced

Industrial Engineering - Equipment Manufacturing

We aim to celebrate the absolute best in Irish-made industrial equipment. This award recognises excellence in engineering design, material selection, fabrication quality, and the innovative functionality of steel-based machinery and components that deliver superior performance, durability, and efficiency for their end-users. It highlights the skill and precision involved in creating tools that build and power our industries.

Who Should Nominate?

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), specialist fabricators, and engineering design companies that produce high-quality steel equipment, sub-assemblies, or complete machines, demonstrating innovation and technical excellence.

Eligibility & Key Considerations

The equipment must be substantially produced by a registered business based on the island of Ireland (though its final delivered/operational location can be worldwide). Entries should showcase exceptional workmanship in fabrication and assembly, proficiency in bespoke design & machining if applicable, meticulous attention to detail in construction, clear technical precision, innovation in addressing user needs or industry challenges, and the delivery of industry-leading quality and reliability that positively impacts your company's reputation.

What The Judges Are Looking For

Quality of the manufactured equipment, its durability, and fitness for purpose; Innovation in design, functionality, or manufacturing process; Technical Execution and precision in fabrication; Collaboration with end-users or component suppliers (if applicable); Uniqueness or superiority of the equipment in its market.

Advanced Robotic Welding Solution for Water Treatment Tanks

Fabtech Robotics

This project represents a major achievement in innovation, engineering, and impact within the Irish steel fabrication industry. A key breakthrough was the creation of a telescopic welding Z stroke system—the first of its kind. This eliminated the need for a traditional pit to rotate large tanks, enabling welding to take place within the existing head height of the building. It allowed full access to all weld points on tanks weighing up to 20 tons, saving the client substantial facility modificat
