The Story

Hayes Mechanical and Engineering (HM&E) is an exceptional team that has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to education and training in the workplace. Their passion for upskilling the workforce, both in the office and the workshop, has not only empowered individual employees in their career development but has also significantly contributed to the overall growth and success of the company.

One notable accomplishment of the team is the recent completion of Autodesk software training including advanced steel and Revit by members of the engineering and workshop teams. This training has equipped the team with advanced skills in computer-aided design and modeling, enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness in their respective roles. By embracing cutting-edge technology, the team has positioned themselves at the forefront of their industry, enabling them to deliver high-quality work and meet the evolving demands of clients.

In addition to their technical training initiatives, HM&E have also taken significant strides in ensuring workplace safety and compliance. The establishment of an in-house Manual Handling instructor has proven to be immensely beneficial, as this crucial training can now be provided when needed, whether for new employees or when existing certificates have lapsed. By prioritizing the well-being and safety of their workforce, the team has created a nurturing and supportive environment where employees can thrive and perform at their best.

The dedication of a team member who recently completed their Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) certificate deserves recognition. This achievement not only highlights the individual's commitment to personal growth but also emphasizes the company's commitment to providing the necessary resources for employees to acquire new skills.

HM&E’s commitment to nurturing talent is evident through their apprenticeship programs for pipefitters and structural steel. By offering these apprenticeships, the team actively contributes to the development of the next generation of skilled professionals in the industry. This initiative not only enhances the company's pool of talent but also strengthens their reputation as a forward-thinking and responsible employer.

HM&E have also demonstrated their commitment to education and training through the implementation of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) course. This training program provides employees with essential knowledge and understanding of the Pressure Equipment Directive, including safety requirements for pressure equipment such as vessels, boilers, piping, and other pressurised systems.

HM&E oversee the qualification and certification processes for our welders, regularly assessing their skills, conducting tests and examinations, and providing necessary training to ensure they meet requirements for specific welding tasks. By keeping our welders up to date with the latest training in welding processes, we ensure their competency and expertise, leading to improved weld quality, and enhanced overall product quality. HM&E empowers their employees to contribute to the company's success.

HM&E truly go above and beyond to ensure that our workforce remains at the forefront of industry trends, equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in our role.
