Pipe Fabrication & Installation
Did your expert team, through seamless collaboration between designers, fabricators, and installers, successfully design, fabricate, and install a complex pipework system for a critical industrial or civil engineering project, achieving the highest standards of precision, safety, and long-term reliability?
This award specifically targets and celebrates excellence in the highly specialised and demanding field of pipework. It recognises superior technical expertise, quality control throughout the manufacturing process, and project management prowess in areas such as process engineering, energy infrastructure, water/wastewater management, pharma, oil & gas, and other sectors where meticulously fabricated and flawlessly installed pipe systems are paramount to operational success and safety. The collaboration between engineering design, workshop fabrication to exacting standards, and on-site installation crews is key.
Who should nominate?
Specialist pipe fabrication companies, mechanical engineering contractors, and integrated project teams (including design engineers and PMs) that can demonstrate exceptional skill, robust quality control, and efficient project management in the delivery of complex steel pipework solutions.
Eligibility & Key considerations
The nominated pipework project must have been completed or significantly progressed (including key installation and testing phases) between 1st July 2023 and 30th June 2025.
The pipework must have been substantially fabricated by a registered business based on the island of Ireland (the final installed location can be outside of Ireland).
Entries should meticulously detail the technical complexity of the system (e.g., materials, stainless steel grades, pressures, temperatures, aggressive environments, etc), the quality and precision of welding (adherence to standards) and fabrication (including special methodologies), proficiency in bespoke fabrication to tight tolerances and specialist finishing requirements (e.g., galvanising, painting, internal lining), unwavering adherence to stringent industry codes and demanding safety protocols during installation, any innovation in installation techniques or problem-solving on site, and robust evidence of industry-leading project execution and client satisfaction upon commissioning.
What the Judges are looking for
Quality and precision of the fabricated and welded pipework, including systems for traceability and documentation; Innovation in design (e.g., stress analysis, routing for tight spaces, etc), material application, or installation methodology for challenging conditions; Excellence in Technical Execution, including adherence to codes, NDT results, hydrotest/pneumatic test success, and impeccable site safety records; Effective Collaboration with clients, design engineers, inspection bodies, and other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle; Overall project management, efficiency, on-time delivery, and successful commissioning/handover with minimal rework.
Submission Requirements
